Pointer and Setter Field Trials
The Field Trial year begins on 1st February and for the Pointers and Setters in England, Scotland and Wales there are four circuits run between March and September.
The Spring Grouse Trials run on moors in the North of England and Scotland on paired Grouse in March
The Spring Partridge Trials run on the corn fields of Suffolk in April on paired Partridges and on Pheasants
The Summer Grouse Trials run on moors in the North of England and Scotland on coveys of Grouse
The Autumn Partridge Trials run on the stubbles and root fields of Norfolk on coveys of Partridges and on Pheasants
In Northern Ireland Field Trials are run in the Spring principally on grouse and pheasants and in the Summer/Autumn on Grouse and Pheasants.
English Setters, Gordon Setters, Irish Setters, Irish Red and White Setters and English Pointers all compete against each other at the Trials.
