RULES

A maximum of 9 dogs per team: 6 dogs to run plus 3 reserves.  Maximum of 2 dogs per handler.
The dogs will run as braces each competing with dogs from an opposing team.  One dog from each Team will be nominated to run downwind, the downwind dogs will run individually.
The Team captains will nominate the dogs that will run and the order in which they will run prior to the meet on the morning of the event.
Each brace will run for 15 minutes (time taken to retrieve shot birds will not be included in the 15 minutes)
There are no eliminating faults but if the judges feel that a dogs running is not of sufficient merit  for paying guests, then the judges will ask for that run to cease.  Should this leave a dog without a brace mate then that dog will complete its 15 minutes own its own and without delay to ensure that stamina is tested.
If the judges feel that a dog has produced work of the required standard for paying guns but has not had the opportunity of a point, the dog will be given another run. This will be decided by the judges in consultation with The Steward of the Beat.
The length of the downwind dogs run will be at the discretion of the judges.

The Maximum Score per dog = 60 Points

Ground Treatment - 20 points.
The judges will be looking for dogs which work with pace and style, with even quartering on both sides where possible and the dogs will be expected to work the wind correctly.  The dogs must show stamina throughout the run.
Faults- missing and flushing game, back casting, boring forward

Game Handling - 15 points
The point must be held for the guns and the birds produced freely, but in a safe manner.  The work out and clearing the ground must be good.
Faults- Gun shyness, unsteadiness, any deviation from above.

Overall Performance - 10 points
The judges will be looking for dogs with natural ability that work with minimal handling and back naturally.
Faults - non-productive points, unsteadiness to fur, self-hunting, being out of control and a general lack of polish.

Handlers instructing the guns - 5 points
The handlers will be expected to be able to instruct and place the guns appropriately and make sure they are not rushed to the points.

Bonus Points – 10 points
The bonus points are for dogs that produce a piece of outstanding work.

THE WINNING TEAM WILL BE THE TEAM WITH THE HIGHEST SCORE

SPECIAL PRIZES:

Best Downwind dog

Guns Choices - The guns will choose a “Guns Choice” from each of the four Teams
